Why Care About Noxious Weeds?

Noxious weeds pose a great threat to the landscape we love here in Montana. One of the most destructive aspects of these weeds is their ability to displace native plant species by outcompeting for nutrients, sunlight and space. Overtime, these weeds will change the natural diversity and balance of our states ecology. There are several negative impacts to this displacement, including: reduction of food sources for wildlife, injury to wildlife, pets and livestock, increased erosion, increased water use, clogging of rivers and streams, and severity and frequency of fires.

By taking care of your land, you can help do your part in protecting our native plant communities and wildlife.
